Greetings Brothers and Sisters of Local 3529,
I have been competing in the
Scottish Highland Games for the last two years and had a lot of
fun doing it. This past year I was privileged to talk our
brother Glenn Davis into competing with me.
The first game he scored 3rd place and the last game in Tallahassee he pulled off an amazing 1st place in his division. My goal is to share this fun and practice of unity with any one who wants to. No experience necessary. There is a Highland Game on October 3rd so we have plenty of time to get you in shape or at least ready to have some fun. In Tallahassee we were privileged to represent all of our local with our shirts and professionalism. We have all the training tools needed and everyone is welcomed. A cheap firefighter tartan (plaid color) is available at www.sportkilt.com. I can make the order when we order ours. Approximately $50-70. If you can't do that just let me know and I will assist you personally. As of now the following will be competing: Myself, Jeanie (my girlfriend), Glenn Davis, Lela Deputy. We will train approx once a month or more if you want. All shapes and sizes are welcomed. Included is the waiver form that needs to be sent in. Well in closing let me tell you that this will be a true adventure if you accept. Look forward to hearing from you. Throw hard and long. Is the motto you want to remember. Update:
The final Highland Games practice
will start at 0900 on September 26th. It will be at the Park
across from the Main Station. That will be exactly one week to
the day of the competition. The Ocala Scottish Highland Games
will be held in Ocala at the livestock arena. The gates open
around 0900 but all the info is available online. We also have a
training day on this Sunday on the 13th 82's quarters or
actually the park next door.
On the 26th we will be grilling hot dogs so come out and support the team. |
